Janmashtami festivities unfolded at the Yogoda Satsanga Sakha Ashram this Saturday, bringing together devotees for a day steeped in spiritual practices and reflection. The celebrations commenced at 6:30 a.m. with a group meditation session led by Brahmachari Haripriyananda, where he shared an inspiring letter from Mrinalini Mataji, the fourth president of the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India.
The morning sessions were followed by devotional bhajans from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., guided by Swami Amarananda Giri and Swami Shankarananda Giri, enveloping the atmosphere in hymns of devotion and piety. The day culminated with an evening of intense spiritual immersion—a special three-hour Janmashtami meditation led by Swami Chidananda Giri, president of the YSS and the Self Realisation Fellowship.
This meditation session was not only attended by local devotees but also reached a global audience through live streaming from the SRF International Headquarters in Los Angeles. The enduring legacy of Yogananda, the founder of YSS and author of 'Autobiography of a Yogi', continues to inspire individuals worldwide, including luminaries such as Steve Jobs, Ravi Shastri, and Rajnikanth.
