In a tribute to India's parliamentary history, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will unveil a special commemorative postal stamp celebrating the centenary of Vithalbhai Patel during the All India Speakers' Conference. The announcement was made on Sunday by officials.
Vithalbhai Patel, who made history as the first elected Indian President (Speaker) of the Central Legislative Assembly in 1925, will be honored for his significant contributions to India's political landscape. The event will see participation from other notable figures, including Union Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia.
The stamp, issued by the Ministry of Communications alongside India Post, aims to highlight Patel's pioneering efforts in India's freedom movement and his leadership in the assembly. The conference will also address key topics such as constitutional foundations, the evolution of democratic institutions, and the role of Artificial Intelligence in parliamentary processes.
