Nation's Media Pioneers Unite for Groundbreaking Conference

The Senior Journalists Forum, Kerala, is gearing up to host a pivotal national conference for senior journalists from August 19 to 21. The event, taking place at the PWD Rest House conference hall, is expected to draw participation from over 250 delegates representing 21 states.

A variety of significant figures are set to grace the conference. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the proceedings on August 20. Prominent media analyst Sevanti Ninan is scheduled to open a national media seminar, while State Minister M B Rajesh will inaugurate an international photo exhibition in collaboration with the Kerala Media Academy.

This national gathering, the first of its kind, will center on advocating for a national pension scheme and consistent social security for retired journalists. Discussions will address crucial issues such as uniform pension plans, health insurance for senior journalists, and the reinstatement of railway concessions for older citizens. The conference will culminate on August 21 with a session opened by the Leader of Opposition in the Kerala Assembly, V D Satheesan, and featuring former Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai as the chief guest.
