Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh has called for enhanced efforts to increase India's handloom and handicraft exports, with a focus on elevating women's monthly income to at least Rs 15,000-20,000. This initiative aligns with ongoing projects to boost the sector's global presence.

During the inauguration of 'The Kunj,' a key Ministry of Textiles initiative, Singh highlighted the significant role of handloom and handicraft in employing over one crore people in India. The new complex will serve as a pivotal platform for artisans nationwide to exhibit their creations.

Singh emphasized the importance of reaching new heights in exporting handloom and handicrafts and celebrated a modest rise in textile exports for the April–July 2025 period, marking a 3.87 percent increase from the previous year.
