In a significant move, Delhi Art, Culture, and Languages Minister Kapil Mishra engaged with representatives of the Vimukt and Semi-Nomadic communities at the Delhi Secretariat. He wholeheartedly pledged the Delhi government's support for celebrating their Community Day on August 31.

During the meeting, community leaders, including Banjara, Gadia, and others, advocated for the formation of a Nomadic Development Board in the city. They also pressed for the inclusion of denotified tribes in caste certificates to ensure rightful recognition and support.

This year's celebration marks an important milestone, commemorating the day these communities were liberated from the colonial-era Criminal Tribes Act. The event aims to highlight their cultural contributions through performances, exhibitions, and seminars.
