The Odisha government has initiated a strategic partnership with top institutions, focusing on the revitalization of its heritage and tourism sectors. Three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) were signed to promote conservation and tourism activities, according to an official statement released Thursday.

The agreements involve the Department of Tourism collaborating with the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M), the National Institute of Water Sports (NIWS), Goa, and the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department partnering with the Light of Buddhadharma Foundation International (LBDFI). Under the MoU with IIT Madras, Odisha is set to utilize advanced scientific techniques for structural audits and heritage conservation projects.

The partnership aims to introduce global safety standards for adventure tourism, driven by Odisha's vast water resources and long coastline. Enhancing Buddhist heritage sites is also a key goal. Officials, including Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, emphasized the significance of these projects in fostering economic growth and cultural preservation.
