Mary McDonnell Joins Marvel and Thriller Productions

Oscar-nominated actress Mary McDonnell is set to appear in two high-profile productions. According to The Hollywood Reporter, McDonnell has joined the cast of the Marvel TV series 'Vision'. Marvel's 'Vision' will see her collaborating with series creator Terry Matalas and actors Paul Bettany and James Spader, although details of her role remain under wraps.

In a separate project, McDonnell is cast in 'One Second After,' a feature film adaptation of William R. Forstchen's 2009 sci-fi thriller novel. Directed by Scott Rogers, the movie co-produced by MPI Original Films and Startling Inc. will see McDonnell play a central role as Jen, the savvy mother-in-law of Josh Holloway's character, John. The plot unfolds after an electromagnetic pulse leaves society in disarray.

With a script by J. Michael Straczynski, 'One Second After' begins filming this month in Sofia, Bulgaria. As McDonnell prepares to reprise her prolific film and television career, these new roles join her list of notable works, from 'Dances With Wolves' to 'Battlestar Galactica', and continue to cement her status as a versatile and acclaimed actress.
