Atlanta police have apprehended a suspect linked to a July break-in that resulted in the theft of unreleased music belonging to global superstar Beyoncé, authorities announced Tuesday. The suspect, identified as Kelvin Evans, was taken into custody on charges of intent to commit theft and a parole violation.
The break-in occurred while Beyoncé's dancer and choreographer, Christopher Grant and Diandre Blue, were accompanying the singer on a tour stop in Atlanta. The duo reported the incident on July 8, after discovering that their rental car window had been smashed and two suitcases stolen during a meal at a nearby restaurant.
According to police reports, the stolen items included sensitive materials such as two Apple laptops and five thumb drives, which contained unreleased music and other digital files related to Beyoncé's tour. As of Tuesday, none of the stolen items have been recovered, said police spokesman Anthony Grant.
