Kolkata Durga Puja Embraces Inclusivity with Braille Initiatives

This year, around 250 Durga Puja committees in Kolkata are taking significant steps to ensure the festivity is inclusive for the visually challenged. Organizers announced the installation of Braille display stands in various pandals, an initiative aimed at making the grand cultural celebration accessible to all.
The National Institute of Professionals, an institution for the differently abled, in collaboration with Forum for Durgotsab and Rotary International District 3291, unveiled a Braille Durga Puja Guide. This guide is part of a broader mission to foster inclusion, ensuring no devotee is marginalized during the vibrant festivities.
Samajsebi Sangha, among the participating committees, has crafted a special access route for differently abled visitors. Reflecting on this inclusive agenda, Debajyoti Roy of NIP highlighted the launch's significance, emphasizing the festival's spirit of unity and accessibility for all.
