Pilgrim Train: Odisha Elders Embark on Sacred Journey
A special pilgrim train departed from Berhampur, Odisha, carrying 775 elderly people to Ayodhya and Varanasi. The yatra is part of the Baristha Nagarika Tirtha Yatra Yojana. Participants include elders from five districts, accompanied by officials. They will return to Berhampur on September 24.

A unique pilgrimage train left Berhampur railway station in Odisha, transporting 775 elderly individuals to Ayodhya and Varanasi, as part of the Baristha Nagarika Tirtha Yatra Yojana.
The passengers, hailing from five districts including Ganjam and Boudh, are being accompanied by 25 officials who will ensure their safety and comfort throughout the journey.
The initiative, flagged off by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, provides free food and lodging, with medical staff on board, offering a precedence for more such trips from various locations in the state.
