Neeraj Ghaywan's 'Homebound' has been selected as India's official entry to the 2026 Academy Awards in the Best International Feature category. The film stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor, and is backed by producers Karan Johar and Adar Poonawalla.

The movie is inspired by journalist Basharat Peer's article and follows the story of a childhood friendship between a Muslim and a Dalit, highlighting their quest for societal dignity through a police job. 'Homebound' also has Hollywood legend Martin Scorsese on board as an executive producer.
