The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is set to embark on its centenary celebrations starting from Vijayadashami on October 2, 2023. The inaugural event will be graced by the presence of former Indian President Ramnath Kovind and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, who will address swayamsevaks globally.
With festivities slated to extend until Vijayadashami 2026, a press briefing on Monday revealed extensive plans to celebrate the milestone. Special invitees to the opening event include notable figures such as Sanjiv Bajaj, KV Kartik, and Lieutenant General Rana Pratap Kalita. Guests from various countries will also participate in the celebrations.
Throughout the centennial year, the RSS plans numerous activities, including nationwide 'gruh sampark' campaigns and 'Hindu sammellans'. These initiatives aim to spread its ideology and reach out to citizens. The RSS has grown substantially since its founding in 1925, boasting over 83,000 daily shakhas.
