On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath commemorated Mahatma Gandhi and former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri by emphasizing the 'double-engine government's dedication to swadeshi, self-reliance, and cleanliness.
During a tribute at his Gorakhnath Temple residence, Adityanath praised Gandhi's emphasis on truth and non-violence, connecting it to current leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where swadeshi has become a model of global importance. Highlighting the state's industrial achievements, he cited the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative's role in the defense sector.
Reflecting on Gandhi's commitment to cleanliness, Adityanath recognized the Swachh Bharat Mission's impact on improving sanitation and women's dignity nationwide.
