In a notable achievement, the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh has been honored with four prestigious Swachh Andhra Awards, as announced by a district official on Thursday. This recognition comes as part of the district's outstanding performance in the Swachh Andhra Swarnandhra programme.
District Collector D K Balaji, in a press conference, proudly outlined the district's accomplishments. Krishna district was lauded for having the Cleanest Village Panchayat in Challapalli, the Cleanest Farmer's Market in Movva, the Cleanest Hostel at the BC Hostel in Dawajigudem, and the Cleanest Industry, exemplified by the Krishna District Milk Producers Mutually Aided Cooperative Union Limited.
These accolades are among a total of 44 awards Krishna district garnered at various levels. The Swachh Andhra Swarnandhra initiative aims for a cleaner and more developed Andhra Pradesh, targeting a 'Swarnandhra Pradesh' by 2047.
