In a remarkable initiative, girl students from rural Madhya Pradesh are breaking barriers. Part of a pioneering project, the team is developing ShakthiSAT, a spacecraft destined for the Moon. These young innovators recently visited President Droupadi Murmu, showcasing their groundbreaking work.
The project is spearheaded by Space Kidz India, a Chennai-based startup focusing on STEM empowerment globally. Their Mission ShakthiSAT brings together 12,000 students from 108 countries, aiming to launch payloads to Low Earth Orbit and later to the Moon. This ambitious initiative embodies India's vision for inclusive growth in science and technology.
Founder Srimathy Kesan highlights how these students, many from rural and government schools, are transitioning from learners to innovators, mastering advanced scientific concepts. With plans to collaborate with Japan's iSpace for a lunar mission, the project inspires millions worldwide, fostering international collaboration and igniting interest in space science.
