In a significant development in the world of corporate gambling, former executives of the British betting giant Entain, previously known as GVC, appeared in a London court charged with bribery and fraud.
Kenny Alexander, the former CEO, and other prominent figures such as ex-chairman Lee Feldman and ex-CFO Richard Cooper, face serious allegations, including conspiracy to bribe and conspiracy to defraud financial institutions by concealing the sources of gambling-related money in Turkey.
Despite the gravity of the charges, the defendants have not yet entered a plea, and the case is set to continue with a court appearance at Southwark Crown Court scheduled for November 3. Entain clarified that the current charges do not implicate any of its existing employees.
