In a dramatic turn of events, the Assam Police have suspended two personal security officers (PSOs) of renowned singer Zubeen Garg after discovering unexplained financial transactions amounting to over Rs 1.1 crore.
PSOs Nandeswar Bora and Prabin Baishya, who were tasked with Garg's protection for a decade due to a death threat, find themselves in hot water as a result of an internal investigation. The probe revealed a financial discrepancy, with one officer's account holding Rs 70 lakh and the other's Rs 45 lakh—amounts far exceeding their known salaries.
Compounding the mystery, singer Zubeen Garg, a celebrated figure in the music industry, died under suspicious circumstances while swimming in Singapore on September 19. The police have since detained several associates, including festival organizers and family members, as they delve deeper into the case.
