Oscar-nominated actress Keira Knightley has confessed to not knowing about author JK Rowling's controversial anti-trans views before participating in the Pottermore Publishing and Audible's 'Harry Potter' audiobooks. Knightley, addressing the widespread boycott, expressed her regret and stated, 'I was not aware of that, no. I'm very sorry.'

The 'Pride & Prejudice' and 'Atonement' actress advocated for the need to coexist peacefully despite differing views. She remarked, 'We're all going to have to figure out how to live together, aren't we? And we've all got very different opinions. I hope that we can all find respect.'

Knightley is set to voice the role of Professor Dolores Umbridge, a character famously antagonistic to Harry Potter in the series' fifth novel. Imelda Staunton originally played this role in the film adaptations. The controversy surrounding Rowling resurfaced with her conflict with former 'Harry Potter' actress Emma Watson.
