Kurukshetra: Fostering the Sacred City of the Gita into a Global Tourist Hub

The government is taking concrete steps to transform Kurukshetra, the sacred land of the Gita, into a major tourist hotspot. A meticulously drafted master plan from Pipli to Jyotisar is set to be presented for approval to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
Amit Kumar Agrawal, Tourism Department Commissioner, outlined the comprehensive plan that includes developing the Mahabharata Anubhav Kendra as an immersive cultural experience. This center aims to project the cultural and spiritual essence ingrained in the Mahabharata, featuring grand mural designs and thematic elements based on 'Glorious India' and the 'Saraswati-Sindhu civilization'.
The initiative also involves infrastructural enhancements, souvenir shops, and promotional campaigns to raise awareness and attract global tourists. Officials are also tasked with the beautification of public spaces and organizing regular community participation activities. The project has garnered participation from several key officials and stakeholders.
