The much-anticipated sequel of the 'Heart Eyes' horror franchise, 'Heart Eyes 2', is scheduled to hit theaters on February 11, 2028, as announced by Variety. Paramount Pictures will be at the helm of its theatrical release, stepping in to co-produce and co-finance the movie following the first installment's global earnings.

Actors Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding, who played co-workers mistaken for lovers by a serial killer, led the cast of the original film. While the full cast list for the sequel is not yet confirmed, Josh Ruben returns to direct and co-write the script alongside Darcy Fowler, based on a story by Christopher Landon and Michael Kennedy.

The original 'Heart Eyes' film was a blend of slasher horror and romantic elements, resonating well within the genre. With a story adaptable to various romantic-comedy formats, there is significant buzz about the franchise's potential for further sequels and spinoffs. Director Ruben suggested future entries could mirror classic rom-com settings while integrating the horror component.
