Actor-turned-politician and TVK leader Vijay left thousands of fans disappointed by cancelling his planned visit to the Velankanni Church, a renowned Christian pilgrimage site, in Nagapattinam district on Saturday.
Following the April 23 Tamil Nadu assembly elections, Vijay embarked on a series of religious visits, including stops at the Tiruchendur Lord Murugan temple and the Shirdi Sai Baba temple.
Sources from TVK disclosed that personal reasons prompted the change in plans, but Vijay may reschedule the visit for Sunday, leaving fans hopeful.
