A tragic explosion at a fireworks factory in China's Hunan province claimed the lives of at least 26 individuals, leaving 61 others injured. The incident, which occurred on Monday in Liuyang city, resulted in extensive property damage.
Rescue operations are ongoing, involving over 480 personnel and three rescue robots. To ensure safety, a buffer zone has been established near two proximate black powder warehouses, with residents being evacuated to prevent further mishaps.
Changsha Mayor Chen Bozhang expressed condolences, and the Ministry of Emergency Management has sent experts to assist. The company's responsible individual is in police custody as investigations into the cause proceed.
