Ancient Secrets Unearthed: ASI's Revelations on Bhojshala-Kamal Maula Mosque Complex

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has revealed to the Madhya Pradesh High Court that the Bhojshala temple-Kamal Maula mosque complex was built using remnants of ancient temples. This conclusion stems from a thorough scientific survey and an extensive report completed by the ASI.

During a court hearing, Additional Solicitor General Sunil Kumar Jain detailed findings that show the presence of architectural remains, inscriptions, and sculptural fragments, suggesting an original structure dating back to the Paramara period. The report indicates that temples once stood where the complex is now situated.

Significant components, including pillars and beams previously used in temple structures, were repurposed for the mosque. These findings add depth to the ongoing religious disputes between Hindu and Muslim communities regarding the site's origins and usage.
