Somnath Temple: Beacon of Unbroken Faith and Sanatan Civilisation

Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma hailed the Somnath Temple in Gujarat as a testament to the resilience of the "Sanatan civilisation." Despite numerous invasions over the years, the temple has stood as a beacon of faith and culture.

The remarks were made at a cultural event marking the 75th anniversary of the temple's restoration. The event, "Somnath Swabhiman Parv - 1,000 Years of Unbroken Faith," was organized by the Maharashtra Department of Cultural Affairs.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a special 'Maha Pooja' ceremony. Cultural performances, including an Odissi dance, highlighted the unique spiritual themes of Indian heritage.
