In a landmark cultural recovery effort, two significant bronze artefacts from Indian temples, including a Chola period antiquity, have been repatriated to India from the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.
Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat announced the successful return at a press conference, marking a significant milestone in India's campaign to recover cultural treasures illegally taken abroad.
The two bronzes, along with other antiquities recently retrieved from Australia, are now displayed at the National Museum, highlighting India's dedication to preserving and reuniting its cultural heritage.
