Tragedy struck the Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday as a massive explosion shook a firecracker factory, claiming the lives of at least two workers and injuring 15 others.
The factory, located in the Tonk Kalan area, had commenced operations a mere 15 days prior, and a licence was issued under the name of Anil Malviya. Nine of the injured have been transferred to a hospital in Indore for further treatment.
Dewas Collector Rituraj Singh has confirmed that the fire, now under control, prompted authorities to secure additional explosive materials stored onsite. As a detailed investigation unfolds, local residents recount the powerful blast and the grim sight of debris scattered around the site.
