A London court has slated the trial of Essa Suleiman, accused of attempting to murder two Jewish men, for March next year. The 45-year-old, originally from Somalia, is alleged to have committed the knife attack in north London's Golders Green, a neighborhood with a significant Jewish community.
This incident is part of a distressing pattern of violence targeting Jewish areas, prompting Prime Minister Keir Starmer to promise reinforced protective measures. Suleiman stands accused of additional crimes, including another count of attempted murder committed on the same day.
Appearing at London's Old Bailey, Suleiman was not required to enter any pleas for the four charges against him. His trial is scheduled to begin on March 1, 2027, during which he will remain in custody.
