Lionsgate has acquired the film rights to the anticipated novel 'Carry Me to My Grave' by Christopher Golden. The novel, described as a supernatural thriller, is set to be directed and produced by filmmaker Francis Lawrence under his first-look agreement with Lionsgate, according to Deadline's report.
Lawrence, who is well-versed in bringing literary adaptations to the screen successfully, will be supported in production by his partner Cameron Maconomy, alongside Scott Glassgold and 12:01 Films. Adding their expertise, Golden and Pete Donaldson will executive produce, with Meredith Wieck and Pavan Kalidindi overseeing the project for the studio.
The narrative centers around a man whose mission is to protect his deceased mother's body from malevolent forces. Lawrence's track record, including hits like 'I Am Legend' and five 'Hunger Games' films, positions him as an ideal candidate to helm this genre adaptation. 'Carry Me to My Grave' joins the list of Golden's works being adapted, including 'Road of Bones' and 'The House of Last Resort'.
