The Madhya Pradesh High Court has recognized Bhojshala in Dhar district as a temple of Goddess Saraswati, leading to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) permitting Hindus unrestricted access for worship.
This ruling overturns a 2003 ASI order that limited Hindu worship and allowed Muslim prayers on Fridays. The decision has sparked significant reactions due to Bhojshala's historical and cultural importance.
As the Muslim community intends to appeal the ruling in the Supreme Court, the district remains under tight security to maintain peace, with 1,200 police personnel stationed in Dhar.
