Oscar-winning filmmaker James Cameron is charting new territory for his 'Avatar' franchise. Speaking on The Empire Film Podcast, Cameron disclosed that the fourth and fifth installments are 'still floating' as he explores advancements in technology to make production more efficient.
The visionary director aims to use new technologies that could cut production time in half and reduce costs to two-thirds of what was previously spent. 'It's going to take a year or so to figure out,' Cameron remarked, noting that the process is ongoing.
While the anticipated releases of 'Avatar 4' and 'Avatar 5' are set for 2029 and 2031 respectively, Cameron is also working on a feature film adaptation of 'The Last Train from Hiroshima', a historical non-fiction by Charles R Pellegrino. The expansion of his cinematic universe is met with expectations for awe-inspiring innovation.
