The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is preparing to unveil a revamped e-commerce platform for 'Khadi India' products, according to Chairman Manoj Kumar. The announcement, made on Tuesday, promises a digital transformation aligning with global standards.
Officials have disclosed that the upgraded portal, powered by Shopify, will offer a sophisticated user interface and new interactive elements like 'Shop the Look'. It focuses on enhancing product display with high-resolution images and an optimized checkout experience, targeting tech-savvy users while maintaining Khadi's traditional appeal.
The initiative reflects KVIC's move towards digital modernization, aiming to appeal to the Gen Z demographic. Sales for Khadi and Village Industries products reached a landmark Rs 1,87,105 crore in the fiscal year 2025-26, indicating strong consumer interest in this cultural legacy.
