Abhijeet Bhattacharya Criticizes Remix of Iconic 'Chunnari Chunnari'

Veteran playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has expressed his disapproval of the recreated version of his iconic 1999 hit, 'Chunnari Chunnari', featured in Varun Dhawan's forthcoming film 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai'. Originally featuring in 'Biwi No. 1', the track starred Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor.

In his conversation with ANI, Bhattacharya reflected on the song's enduring legacy, highlighting how it marked a significant milestone in Salman Khan's career. He openly criticized Varun Dhawan for what he terms as doing 'second-hand' films, particularly when they include remixed songs from films directed by his father, David Dhawan.

Bhattacharya humorously remarked that the revamped version of 'Chunnari Chunnari' sounded like a 'bhajan' and expressed relief that he wasn't part of the remake. The song, in its new avatar, left audiences divided, stirring up a storm on the internet with many expressing their disappointment.
