Ranveer Singh Faces FWICE Backlash Over Film Dispute

Ranveer Singh faces a challenge after FWICE directed its members to avoid working with him due to his sudden departure from "Don 3." This "non-cooperation directive" raises potential legal and operational issues, though it might not legally restrict Singh's right to work.

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh finds himself embroiled in controversy following a directive issued by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE). This directive involves over 400,000 film workers who have been asked not to collaborate with Singh due to his abrupt exit from the "Don 3" project.

While this directive isn't legally binding, it could create considerable obstacles for Singh's future film undertakings. The union's decision followed a complaint filed by producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, alleging financial losses due to the actor's last-minute withdrawal.

Sonam Chandwani, a legal expert, emphasized that the directive lacks legal enforceability, as it contradicts individual rights under Indian law. Meanwhile, FWICE president B N Tiwari remains firm on the non-cooperation stance until Singh addresses the issue with the union.

This situation mirrors a similar case involving Diljit Dosanjh, where FWICE intervened over his association with a Pakistani actress. The film industry watches closely as stakeholders hope for an amicable resolution, while Singh is currently not engaged in any new projects.
