A forest fire stretched across the Gilbert Trail and Upper Mall in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, was contained by the Indian Army on Wednesday. The blaze started on Tuesday afternoon and rapidly spread through the forest, prompting an extensive operation.

The 15-hour operation, coordinated with the Indian Air Force and local authorities, featured ground firefighting efforts by army troops and aerial missions by helicopters using Bambi Buckets. The collaborative actions limited the fire's spread and safeguarded vulnerable forest zones. Notably, this operation led to the successful containment of key affected areas.

Throughout the challenging conditions, army personnel engaged both in creating firebreaks and tackling residual hotspots effectively. The operation's success was reviewed by Army Commander Pushpendra Singh, who praised the efforts and awarded commendation cards for exemplary performance in the crisis.
