A devastating forest fire in Badan Gad, near Adibadri, led to the tragic death of Sureshi Devi, a 52-year-old resident of Bunga village in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district. On Tuesday evening, Devi became trapped when flames from the nearby forest engulfed her cowshed as she attended to her cattle.

Despite the villagers' swift response to her shouts for help, they were unable to transport her to the hospital in time, and she died from her severe injuries. Ranger Ravindra Kumar Nirala confirmed that Devi perished attempting to put out the fire. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination while villagers, led by Narendra Bisht, voiced their frustration over repeated forest fires and called for compensation and effective forest management practices.
