The mother of Manjunath Rao, a Karnataka native who tragically lost his life in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, commended the Union Government's Operation Sindoor. She described the response as fittingly named and expressed her faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decisive leadership, following the airstrikes on terrorist locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
"We were hopeful PM Modi would take good action. Operation Sindoor is an appropriate name for the operation," she commented. The operation is a retaliatory measure that targeted nine terrorist sites in response to the attack that claimed 26 lives, among them her son's. Manjunath Rao, on a family vacation as part of a tour package, was among those slain when terrorists opened fire on tourists on April 22.
His wife, Pallavi Manjunath, expressed that the tragedy seemed like a bad dream and hoped it would not happen to any family. During the last rites, she remarked, "It should be a bad dream; I should wake up from it. This should not happen to any family. They were targeting only men." Their family friend, Dattatreya, described the loss as profoundly personal.
In a coordinated effort on Wednesday, the Indian Armed Forces successfully struck nine identified terrorist targets with special precision munitions under Operation Sindoor, destroying four sites in Pakistan, specifically Bahawalpur, Muridke, Sarjal, and Mehmoona Joya, and five in PoJK. This operation was executed jointly by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, with comprehensive asset and troop mobilization. All nine strikes were effective, targeting top Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leaders accountable for fostering terrorism in India.
This marks the deepest Indian military incursion into Pakistan's undisputed territory since 1971, representing New Delhi's most significant action within Pakistani borders in more than fifty years. (ANI)
