On Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah convened a critical meeting with the Chief Ministers and other government officials from several states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan, amid rising Indo-Pak tensions following the launch of 'Operation Sindoor'. Chief Ministers from states such as Gujarat, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal, along with Lieutenant Governors of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, were present.
The meeting also included Chief Secretaries and Director General of Police from the concerned states in light of the Indian Army's bold action against nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Shah held discussions with JK Chief Minister Abdullah, emphasizing full protection for those living in border areas.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reviewed security in Jammu and Kashmir's border districts, urging immediate relocation of residents from vulnerable zones. Meanwhile, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri relayed the surgical precision of 'Operation Sindoor'. This operation, marking India's deepest incursion since 1971, symbolizes a significant advance in its counterterrorism strategy.
