In a swift and strategic move, India launched 'Operation Sindoor' targeting terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK) on Wednesday, following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. The operation was meticulously planned to deliver justice and prevent civilian casualties, as stated by Wing Commander Vyomika Singh.
Simultaneously, the Ministry of Home Affairs has mandated civil defence mock drills across key cities, including Mumbai and Delhi, to enhance crisis preparedness. These drills, instructed to be conducted in all states and union territories, aim to arm security personnel and civilians with the knowledge to counter emerging threats effectively.
Operation Sindoor, which has been described as India's deepest strike into Pakistan's territory since 1971, represents a robust response against terrorism. In a national briefing, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri highlighted the attack's barbaric nature in Pahalgam, intended to disrupt Jammu and Kashmir's progress towards normalcy.
