In a significant move to chart India's future on the global economic stage, esteemed economist S P Sharma unveiled his latest work, 'India@2047: Leading the Global Economic Order,' at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. The event gathered key figures including BJP National Spokesperson Gopal Krishna Agarwal and former Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ajay Dua, marking a milestone in India's economic discourse.
Sharma, who has previously served as Chief Economist at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted India's robust economic momentum amidst global challenges. His book, projecting an average GDP growth of over 8% from FY22 to FY24, presents India as a pivotal player in global growth, supported by initiatives like Make in India and record Foreign Direct Investment surpassing USD 1 trillion.
The expansive work delves into India's economic reforms, digital transformations, and strategic global partnerships, underlining its role in platforms such as the G20 and BRICS. Discussions covered the need for a collective pledge to harness intellectual capital and entrepreneurship. The book serves as both a blueprint and a call to action for India's journey to economic superpower status by 2047.
