Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma has lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their precision strikes on terrorist camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK). The military action was a retaliatory response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.

Speaking to ANI, Sharma highlighted the significance of 'Operation Sindoor', a name given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sharma explained that this name has particular resonance, as it reflects the plight of those who lost their husbands and fathers in the attack. He commended the military's efforts in eliminating terror sites in POK, an action which has drawn approval from various quarters, including some opposition parties.

The Deputy Chief Minister noted, "The opposition parties have also praised the strikes. It's commendable as they haven't taken the adversarial stance they did during the Balakot airstrikes." Meanwhile, Pakistan's continued ceasefire violations, shelling civilian areas in Jammu and Kashmir, have led to civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure, leaving local populations in fear.
