J&K Deputy CM Evaluates Security Amidst Ongoing Tensions

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary arrived in Rajouri on Friday to evaluate the security arrangements in the area. During his visit, Choudhary also assessed the hospital facilities, which are crucial given the region's ongoing security issues.

Emphasizing the resilience of the Indian people, Choudhary remarked that acts of aggression from Pakistan had not deterred their spirit. 'Our people are brave,' he told ANI, affirming solidarity with the Indian armed forces and calling for unity among the populace. He assured that Pakistan would face a robust response.

In recent developments, civilian homes near the border suffered damage from Pakistani shelling. Authorities responded by closing down educational institutions in Udhampur on Friday as a precaution. Concurrently, an infiltration attempt in the Samba sector was thwarted by the Border Security Force (BSF), resulting in the neutralization of seven terrorists.

The incident occurred as a group of terrorists attempted to cross the border under cover from Pakistan Rangers. The BSF's surveillance system successfully identified and halted the infiltration bid. Additionally, explosions in Jammu and Jaisalmer prompted air-raid sirens and evacuations.

These events follow India's Operation Sindoor on May 7, which saw missile strikes on key locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. These actions targeted terrorist facilities as a countermeasure to the April 22 attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 civilian lives.
