Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched the second phase of Mumbai Metro Line 3, unveiling a 9.77 km stretch at the Bandra Kurla Complex on Friday. The CM emphasized plans to introduce a single ticketing system for all forms of public transport in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The newly opened section connects Bandra Kurla Complex to Acharya Atre Chowk and runs beneath the Mithi River. Fadnavis announced that the final segment of the route, extending from Worli to Cuff Parade, will be inaugurated in August, marking the completion of the entire line from Cuff Parade to SEEPZ.
In his statement, the CM highlighted the importance of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 to the city's infrastructure, describing it as the backbone of a modern, future-ready Mumbai. With 26 cutting-edge underground stations, this development marks a significant leap forward for the city's transit capabilities.
