Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, joined by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, inaugurated Phase 2A of Mumbai Metro Line 3 on Friday. The new stretch, covering nine kilometers from Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to Acharya Atre Chowk, marks a significant step in Mumbai's expanding underground metro network.

The new section features six underground stations, enhancing connectivity in some of Mumbai's densely populated and commercially important areas. This phase, part of the broader 33-kilometer project, is anticipated to greatly ease transportation in the city once fully operational. Fadnavis emphasized the project as a leap forward in Mumbai's mobility infrastructure.

Earlier in the day, Fadnavis chaired a high-level security meeting amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Following recent attacks on Indian soil and cross-border exchanges, the Ministry of Home Affairs has directed all states and Union Territories to enhance civil defense measures. This directive is a response to the emerging security challenges, aiming to safeguard citizens and maintain vital services during hostile incidents.
