Panchkula on High Alert Amid Blackout and Border Tensions

Panchkula is under a district-wide blackout due to heightened security concerns. Authorities ordered all lights off and markets closed from 7 PM. The Panchkula district has been placed on high alert, with a complete blackout imposed from 7 PM onwards as a precautionary security measure. Authorities have decreed a shutdown of all markets and ordered lights to remain off until further notice.

A communiqué from the office of the Deputy Commissioner declared that all external lights in public and private facilities should be switched off at 7 PM. This directive encompasses banks, hotels, religious sites, and more. Residents have been instructed to turn off internal lights upon the sound of sirens.

Simultaneously, the Haryana Government has directed all state employees to remain at their headquarters until further instructions. The district's heightened state of alert comes amidst military tensions near the Western Border, where Indian forces recently thwarted multiple drone incursions from Pakistan.
