He credited the diligent efforts of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), National Disaster Response Forces (NDRF), and Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) for driving this progress
In a speech at the Disaster Response Forces Conference alongside State Relief Commissioners, Shah highlighted significant achievements over the past decade, marked as a 'transitional period.' He pointed to advancements in the areas of capacity, speed, efficiency, and accuracy, emphasizing the role of these elements in India's disaster response history.
Shah underscored India's success in disaster risk reduction under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, highlighting integrated efforts among local governments, the public, and central agencies. He called for comprehensive district disaster management plans within 90 days and state-level action plans for lightning and thunderstorms, advocating for a coordinated national approach.
