Tragedy in Mathura: Building Collapse Sparks Protest and Rescue Operations

A deadly building collapse on Sunday in Mathura's Masani area has claimed the lives of three people, including two children, prompting local protests on Monday. City Magistrate Rakesh Kumar stated that affected families will receive financial aid and alternative accommodation, while evacuations of neighboring structures continue as investigations proceed.
The tragic incident left Totaram, 35, and two children, Kajal and Yashoda, dead. In response, Mathura police and Municipal Corporation teams initiated immediate rescue operations. SSP Mathura, Shlok Kumar, highlighted ongoing efforts by the Fire Services team at the site. One individual was rescued and is currently stable.
With the assistance of the NDRF and SDRF teams, local authorities are committed to relief operations. Mathura Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjeev Yadav reported that three people were extracted from the debris but unfortunately pronounced dead upon arrival at the district hospital. Several ambulances and response teams remain deployed for continued emergency support.
