In a significant operation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), a Panchayat Secretary was apprehended on Monday while accepting an illicit payment in Budhera village, Sangareddy district, Telangana.
Officials disclosed that Patlolla Nagalaxmi, aged 40, was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 from a local resident. The incident took place at 1:05 PM in the Gram Panchayat office, where she demanded the sum in exchange for issuing key official permissions, including the establishment of a water servicing center and a new house number allotment.
Nagalaxmi's actions were deemed improper and dishonest, violating her official duties to gain personal advantage. Post-arrest, she was presented before the Hon'ble II Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases in Hyderabad. While the investigation continues, the complainant's identity remains protected for security reasons.
