The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Central Government and the Indian Coast Guard in response to a petition filed by Annu Yadav, a Short Service Appointment officer. Yadav is urging for a permanent post, aligned with the Supreme Court guidelines, as she nears the end of her 14-year tenure.

Currently holding the position of Commandant (JG), Yadav is slated to retire on June 30 after serving for 14 years. The division bench of Justices Tejas Karia and Rajneesh Kumar Gupta has instructed the respondents, including the Central Government, to file a counter affidavit within four weeks and provide an advance copy to the petitioner's counsel.

The High Court has granted interim relief for Yadav, enabling her to remain in her current role pending the next hearing. This decision parallels rulings in similar cases like those of Anuradha Shukla and Monica Verma. The bench has set the matter for a hearing on August 4, alongside two other similar petitions, emphasizing the precedent set by previous Supreme Court and Delhi High Court orders.
