In a pivotal move towards bolstering environmental research and sustainable initiatives, Assam Women's University (AWU) and the Green Action Foundation (GAF) have formalized a partnership. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both entities sets the stage for collaborative research, knowledge sharing, and capacity-building pursuits focusing on conservation, sustainable development, and green innovation.

The signing took place at the university campus with the presence of distinguished attendees including Vice Chancellor Ajanta Borgohain Rajkonwar, Registrar Tapan Gohain (ACS), and multiple AWU faculty members. Representing GAF were Pranab Kumar Sarmah, Director, CBE, and Sujith Kumar Das, CEO, who were instrumental in formalizing the agreement.

Vice Chancellor Rajkonwar expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating that the MoU is a milestone in AWU's dedication to environmental education and research. She highlighted that the partnership with GAF offers students and researchers a vital platform for field-based studies, awareness programs, and policy discussions. The agreement's key objectives include joint research on topics like climate change and biodiversity, seminars on environmental issues, and green audits.
