On Thursday, Rakesh Joshi, the Superintendent of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, announced significant progress in identifying victims of the Air India 171 disaster. Joshi confirmed that DNA samples from 211 individuals had been successfully matched. The remaining samples are currently undergoing verification, with the administration prioritizing swift communication with affected families.

Amid the grim developments, the body of Clive Kunder, the flight's co-pilot, was returned to his residence in Mumbai. Emotional scenes unfolded as a throng of mourners gathered to pay their respects to Kunder, who lived with his parents in Goregaon (West). The family, along with friends, grieved the untimely loss.

The crash, which occurred on June 12 when the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner tragically collided with a hostel complex shortly after departing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, resulted in 241 fatalities. Among the deceased was former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Actor Vikrant Massey publicly mourned Kunder, acknowledging their familial connection and extending condolences to all impacted by the tragic event.
